Crypton just dropped the details on a massive Hatsune Miku x Okinawa event, and it looks absolutely beautiful.

CHURA MIKU STREET 2026 kicks off November 1st and runs through December 13th in Naha, Okinawa — spanning International Street and the Shuri Castle area. It's a walking tour event designed to connect Miku fans with Okinawan culture, food, and scenery, and the art direction alone is worth the trip.

Three Artists, Three Takes on Okinawan Miku

The event features original illustrations from three artists, each interpreting Okinawa through Miku's eyes:

  • Shishikami (main visual) — Miku dressed in an Eisai (Okinawan traditional dance) costume, climbing the stone steps toward Shuri Castle. The shoes in the artwork are actually DIANA brand sandals — a real product collaboration.
  • maple (sub visual) — Miku in a kairushu (Okinawan casual wear), standing with a cat on a stone-paved alleyway lined with red-tile roofs and bougainvillea, with a Ishikantō (Okinawan guardian stone) nearby.
  • Fukukitsune (sub visual) — Miku swimming underwater among clownfish and coral reefs. Fukukitsune also designed the swimsuit for this piece.

What's Actually Happening

Beyond the art, there's a solid lineup of activities:

  • Stamp Rally — Collect 6 Miku stamps across the event area for exclusive merch (Nov 1 – Dec 13)
  • Free Greeting Event — December 12th in Naha (venue TBD, free entry)
  • Okinawan Food Collabs — Themed menu items from local restaurants (details TBA)
  • Official Merch — Acrylic stands, badge pins, keychains, and stickers coming

A Note on Shuri Castle

The main hall of Shuri Castle reopens to the public on November 23rd — the event is timed to support the castle's reconstruction. If you've been to Shuri Castle before, you remember it from the 2019 fire. This event feels like a genuine effort to bring people back to the area.
