If the FFX Museum in Shinjuku got you excited about Tidus and Yuna's world, the companion experience is coming next. The FINAL FANTASY X 25TH ANNIVERSARY CAFE kicks off September 11 and runs through December 2, spanning four cities — and this is the first time Yokohama is included.

📍 Locations & Format

The cafe runs simultaneously through two operators:

  • Tokyo: Officially Licensed SQUARE ENIX Cafe & Shop SHINJUKU (permanently open)
  • Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya: SQUARE ENIX POP UP CAFE (temporary locations)

Cafe spaces operate on a 90-minute reservation system with a ¥1,200 charge. The Shinjuku permanent location continues to serve its regular menu alongside the collab items.

🍽️ The Menu — 23 Items Across Two Phases

The cafe is split into two periods with rotating menus:

Category Highlights
Running (all 4 locations, all dates) 25th Anniversary Cake (¥1,870), Oyakodon — "Reunion at Zanarkand" (¥1,650), Blitzball Viewing Basket (¥1,210), Yuna's Fruit Peach Lemonade (¥880), Tidus's Fratani Soda (¥880), Latte Art (FFX version, ¥880), Sleeve Drink (¥770)
Early Phase 5 additional rotating menus
Late Phase 5 different rotating menus
Shop-exclusive 6 shop-only menu items per location

The latte art randomly features one of 9 FFX character designs, and sleeve drinks come with themed artwork. The Oyakodon — themed around Tidus and Jecht's father-son relationship at Zanarkand — is honestly the most emotionally devastating menu item I've ever seen.

📅 Schedule

  • Early Phase: September 11 – October 22
  • Late Phase: October 23 – December 2

Two things stand out: first, the fact that Yokohama is getting a POP UP CAFE for the first time ever means there's finally a decent option for Kanto residents who don't want to trek into Shinjuku. Second, the split-phase menu means there's a real incentive to visit twice — different seasonal dishes in early and late phase. If you're a fan, that's basically two cafes for the price of one. Already went to the museum last week; the cafe visit is next on the pilgrimage list.
